Discussions
Discussion areas allow you make public comments for others to
read and possibly reply with a Follow Up message if they have
something relevant to add. Others might then reply to your
original message or one of the Follow Ups to your original
message. A message and all the Follow Up replies related to it
is often referred to as a message thread.
Menu Area
The commands on the Menu bar allow you to navigate the
discussion area. The Create Followup
Message command scrolls the window to the "Post Followup Message"
area of the Discussion page. The Return To Discussion
command takes you back to the Discussion page The Help
command displays this page.
Message Area
The Message Area is where you read the message that
you clicked on in the Discussion Page.
Post Followup Message
The Post Follow Up Message area of the Message page is
where you enter the message you want to post as a Follow Up to
the message in the Message Area. In order to post a follow up
message fill out the fields of the form and click the Submit Follow Up
button in order to send it. You will be notified when your
follow up message has been received and added to the
discussion. You will be given a chance to either read the
newly created message or return to the Discussion Page. If you return to the Discussion page you will notice that your
message has been added to the message in the Message
Area as a follow up message.
Name is you name or call name.
E-Mail is your e-mail address.
This field is optional if you don't want anyone to know it
leave it empty.
Subject is the title of the message. This is
what the message will be listed by in the Discussion page.
Message is where you type in
the message.
Optional Link URL is where you
can enter the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of a web page you
would like to include as a hyperlink in the message. A URL
refers to a server and page on your intranet or internet.
Link Title is the underlined
text that will be placed in the message to refer to the Link
URL. This is the name of the Hyper Link.
Optional Image URL is where
you can enter the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of a graphic
you would like to include in the message. A URL refers to a
server and page on your intranet or internet.
