MWS Link Resolver doesn't work.

Hi.
I recently set up MWS and it works fine. I tried using the Link Resolver to enable file downloading without having the files in the WWWRoot dir, but it doesn't work. I did exactly what the instructions said to and placed shortcuts to the files in their individual dir's but instead of downloading the file it downloads the shortcut.
Please help.
